Yesterday I visited restaurant Casa Tolone in Luzern with some of my Norwegian girlfriends.
I had been there once before and knew the atmosphere in this authentic Italian restaurant would be perfect for our group. Lively yet relaxed and uncomplicated. Great food and good service.
We could see directly into the large kitchen, and some special dishes were prepared right at the table by Papà Franco «il padrone» himself.

I ordered the Brasato al Vecchio Barolo with polenta and this was delicious.
For dessert I had the Formaggi vary with three different cheeses, walnuts and honey.

I chose to stick with my glass of Roero Arneis DOCG – Vietti throughout the meal, but for the Brasato I should have chosen a red Primitivo di Manduria DOP, Centurio 2010.

If you are looking for a restaurant in Luzern away from the tourist traps, then this is going to be your next favorite place.
The only thing this restaurant need to change is their website.

From Bahnhof you can take any bus going in direction of Maihof.

It`s a five minute walk from Bourbaki, Löwenplatz and Gletschergarten.
